Head of Core Data Platform, Snowflake

Artin Avanes joined Snowflake in 2015 as its first-ever product manager, building out the broader team and ecosystem from the ground up. As Head of Core Data Platform at Snowflake, he is now responsible for building and scaling product management teams responsible for Snowflake core products, including SQL analytics, data warehousing, database security, privacy and data governance, multi-cloud and metadata-driven features, and cloud infrastructure. Prior to Snowflake, Artin helped launch multiple features across the Microsoft Azure platform. He holds both an M.S. in Database and Information Systems, and a PhD in Computer Science. Artin has also spent time doing research at major universities, including Stanford and Humboldt University in Berlin.
