We work to minimize our own environmental footprint, but for Snowflake, that’s not enough. Snowflake’s core architecture processes data more efficiently than legacy solutions, which helps reduce the carbon impact.

Sustainability Statement and Sustainable Business Operations
Snowflake is focused on minimizing our environmental footprint. Many of our offices are equipped with energy saving technology and we target office locations accessible by public transportation. We have a food waste reduction program and donate edible food to local organizations in need. We have a recycling and composting program, energy efficient appliances, and water saving fixtures. Finally, we are reducing business travel by scheduling more virtual meetings and events.

And we have implemented tools that help build a diverse candidate pipeline.

From Snowflake’s early days, we have been involved in projects that make a difference. With a handful of employees or the entire company, we take time out to assist with humanitarian, environmental, educational, and many other efforts that deliver impact, locally and globally. Snowflake has developed a relationship with several organizations to promote and contribute to the enhanced equality of opportunity in technology, such as Women in Data, Techbridge Girls, Camelback Ventures, and Genesys Works. In addition, Snowflake employees have volunteered their time and donated money to a variety of organizations.

The battle against the COVID-19 pandemic requires analytics-ready data to accelerate epidemiological research, inform public health safety initiatives, and shape business continuity responses related to the outbreak. By accessing COVID-19 data and curated data sets from Snowflake Data Marketplace, organizations can easily combine live, third-party data sets with their own data to assess the impact of the pandemic on their business, make informed data-driven decisions in real -time, and create effective contingency plans in response to this crisis. In addition, Snowflake provides the data backbone for California’s Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record, which gives California residents the option of a digital vaccine record and also enables California’s vaccine-incentive programs.
